Kelowna is probably the most renowned wine region of Canada. Exploring its vineyards hills sloping down to the water lakes and dotted with wineries where you can taste the finest wine of Kelowna region. The wine route is one of the preferred activities of Kelowna and the whole Okanagan region, with car or especially by bike, along the numerous cycling trails. You can discover here the most awarded Canadian wines such as in Summerhills Pyramid Winery, just a few miles for Kelowna downtown, which is the most awarded, or Kalala Organic Estate Winery, on the west side of Okanagan lake which produce excellent organic wines. Kelowna town is the starting point of the greatest wine tours of Okanagan region, just be sure to bring a teetotaler driver if you tour by car!

Kelowna is located half way of the 68 miles long Okanagan Lake’s coast. Okanagan Lake is surely the best option for spending your time during a summer holiday in Kelowna: more than 30 beaches all around the lake, to relax or practice your preferred watersport. Kelowna town has three waterparks, nine beaches and waterfront walkways.  Everything you need to enjoy Okanagan Lake. But beware: in Kelowna many people swear and perjure to have seen a monster in the Okanagan Lake, called Ogopogo, which the canadian brother of Nessie of LochNess Lake in Scotland.

It’s especially pleasant a cycling route around the wine yards and the hills surrounding the lake, such as the Kettle Valley Rail Trail, the most famous and covered track of the region. And if what you want is something more exciting you can head to Vernon, where you can find Silver Star Mountain Park, an extended mountain bike track where every level’s biker can have a ride and enjoy a great natural environment.
